Since 2015, our Leadership Institute has matriculated 500 fellows—a testament to HELF’s commitment to cultivating, strengthening, and positioning emerging and established leaders across higher education.

To date, 16 HELF fellows have gone on to serve as presidents of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, demonstrating the transformative power of intentional leadership development.

Nearly 29% of HELF fellows currently hold cabinet-level roles at HBCUs, shaping policy, driving strategy, and advancing the mission of Black higher education nationwide.

As we envision the next decade of innovation in Black higher education, HELF convenes scholars, presidents, policymakers, and philanthropic leaders for a strategic convening on the future of HBCUs. Together, we will examine the systems, partnerships, and pathways needed to ensure HBCUs remain strong, resourced, and positioned for long-term success.
